Studio MØN offers design frameworks, masterplanning and advice that results in sustainable, long-term outcomes. Strategically realised immediate, mid and long-term action-planning addresses the future of place regeneratively, and ensures the cross-benefits of integrating social, cultural, environmental and economic priorities comprehensively.
Aotearoa is a taonga to be well-cared for. Urban Strategy and Spatial Planning means addressing current and future need, and practically planning for and making decisions that leave our worlds and local places better for it. We take pride in creating and working with place, people and future-planning. We are specialised and passionate strategists, artists, designers, and creatives who share a common goal: in creating good places fit for everyone, shaping daily lives and growing healthy Aotearoa futures. We're dedicated to our craft and to helping our clients and partners achieve their aspirations.
Studio MØN offers masterplanning across urban development and renewal typologies from civic, to residential, papakāinga, community housing to mixed-use, precinct, town-centre, neighbourhood centre, streetscape, to commercial, educational, health, transport oriented + integrated, to open-space, recreational and public realm design and coordination. We aim to contribute to well-located, well-structured and well-serviced built-environments. Key factors in our projects are; resilience, relationships to nature + biodiversity, amenity + mixture of uses, connectivity, walkability, identity + expression, accessibility, safety, vibrant local economies and growing environments that celebrate the uniqueness, character, stories and histories of place.
Fundamental to all great projects is great engagement into the project space. Providing participative communications, opportunities for equal engagement, strong facilitation and innovative, inclusive co-design is at the core of our practice. We understand how to listen well, create collaborative project teams and relations, manage complex stakeholders and coordinate wider design participation, technical and governance teams.
Urbanism NZ Conference, AKL, 2023 // What is ‘urban’ can mean many things. The conference invited us to challenge our understandings and automatic definitions of urban — especially in Aotearoa — but also in the face of the many changes behind us, around us and in front of us.
